How Riding MARTA Works

Start by identifying the closest MARTA bus stop or rail station to your home and worksite. Then use MARTA’s trip-planning tools to check your route, schedule, transfers, and final connection. MARTA’s official rider tools include trip planning, real-time alerts, and app-based service information.

Step 1: Plan Your Trip

Request a custom commute plan by sharing a few details about your commute.

Step 2: Check Your Bus or Rail Connection

Confirm whether your commute uses bus, rail, or a bus-to-rail transfer.

Step 3: Know Your Airport Connection

Red and Gold Line trains connect directly to the Domestic Terminal. The ATL SkyTrain is located near MARTA Airport Station at the west end of the Domestic Terminal and connects to the Gateway Center and Rental Car Center.

Step 4: Check Alerts Before You Leave

Use MARTA’s app and alerts pages to check real-time service updates before starting your commute.

Fare and Payment

MARTA’s standard fare is currently $2.50 and includes 4 free transfers in 3 hours.

Backup Options

A reliable commute plan should include a backup. If your normal MARTA trip is interrupted by an unexpected event, an emergency, or an unplanned schedule change, GCO members have access to Guaranteed Ride Home to redeem up to 5 Uber rides home from work each year.
You will receive instant access to your first ride after you create an account and log your first clean commute trip, then simply log 8 clean roundtrip commutes before unlocking your next ride.

A safer backup plan.
