Telework

Teleworking can be an eligible clean commute option through Georgia Commute Options. When employees work from home instead of driving alone to the workplace, that’s one less car on the road.  Log your telework days through MyGCO, earn reward points, and enter monthly drawings.

Skip the Commute

Telework helps employees avoid traffic, reduce commute costs, and remove the need to drive to work on eligible remote-work days.

Log Clean Commute Days

Employees can log telework days in MyGCO the same way they would log other clean commute options.

Access Rewards

Logged clean commute activity can help users access Gimme Five, $25 prize drawings, and Commute Perks when eligibility requirements are met.

How Telework Works

Telework is one of the simplest commute alternatives because it removes the work trip altogether. For eligible employees, all you need to do is confirm that your employer has a worksite that falls within the Shift boundary area, create or log into your MyGCO account, and log eligible telework days as clean commute activity.

Step 1: Set Up MyGCO

Create or access your MyGCO account so you can log clean commute activity and view eligible rewards.

Step 2: Log Your Telework Day

When you work from home instead of driving alone, log that telework day in MyGCO as a clean commute.

Step 3: Track Rewards

Use MyGCO to track progress toward rewards, prize entries, commuter perks, and other eligible programs.

Rewards

MyGCO allows eligible commuters to log clean commute alternatives, including telework, and access reward opportunities. Current GCO rewards include Gimme Five, monthly $25 prize drawings, Commute Perks, and Guaranteed Ride Home.

Gimme Five allows eligible users to earn $5 a day up to $150 over a designated 90-day period, while the $25 prize program includes telework among eligible logged commute options.

You can access discounts and other Commute Perks after logging at least five days of clean commutes per month.

Get rewarded to work from home.

  • Log eligible telework days through MyGCO.
  • Use logged clean commute activity to enter monthly prize opportunities.
  • ccess Commute Perks after meeting the required monthly clean-commute logging threshold.

Cost and Payment

Vanpool costs are different from transit fares because they depend on the vanpool provider, vehicle, route, rider group, available subsidies, employer support, and any current incentive programs. The Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority Vanpool Program operated by COMMUTE with Enterprise currently provides a subsidy covering 40% of vanpool expenses, and some employers may offer commuter benefits that offset costs.

Shared Monthly Cost

Vanpool riders typically share the cost of the commute rather than paying a standard one-way fare. Final rider costs should be confirmed during the vanpool setup process.

Regional Subsidy

The ATL regional vanpool subsidy covers 40% of vanpool expenses for commuters who live within the 13 metro-counties.

Employer Support

Ask your employer if they offer commuter benefits that help further offset vanpool costs.
