How Carpool Matching Works
MyGCO helps commuters plan their route, search for carpools, and connect with people traveling in the same direction.
Step 1: Open Pools
Select the Pools page at the bottom of the MyGCO app.
Step 2: Search or Create a Route
Tap Search to look for available carpool routes or tap + Create Post to create a new route.
Step 3: Add Your Route Details
Enter your starting address, destination and schedule to see available pools along your route.
Step 4: Message and Coordinate
View match details and send a message to your potential carpool partner directly through the app.
Cost Sharing and Ride Expectations
Confirm the Details
Before the first ride, confirm pickup time, pickup location, destination, work schedule, and expected arrival time.
Agree on Costs
If the carpool includes gas, parking, or other shared costs, agree on the amount and payment timing in advance.
Set Ride Expectations
Drivers and riders should agree on communication preferences, lateness, cancellations, cleanliness, and recurring ride schedules.

Backup Options
Carpool riders need confidence that they have a way home if a driver, rider, or work schedule changes unexpectedly. Eligible GCO members can use Guaranteed Ride Home for qualifying unexpected events and can redeem up to five Uber rides home each year, with access available through the MyGCO app.

Rewards
MyGCO allows commuters to log carpool trips, earn points, access rewards, and participate in eligible incentive programs. Carpools that log at least eight days of carpooling per month have access to monthly rewards based on carpool size.
